Organizational Structure

Owning to its historical background Bombo SS school is owned by Nakatonya Islamic Community NICB. Bombo as its foundation body. Currently, it's a government aided school run under the guidelines of the ministry of Education and Sports through the education act of 2008. The foundation body is not involved in the management of the school.

Board of Governors (B.O.G)

The school Board of Governors represents the Ministry of Education in governing the school. The foundation body nominates five members of the board through whom its interests are channeled. Other members are selected from parents, teachers, the local government which includes the town council and the district representatives.

The B.O.G is the supreme governing body of the school. Its composition formed every after three years is approved by the ministry of Education.

Parents Teachers Association (P.T.A)

The school P.T.A comprises of parents, Teachers and some school administrators. It is an Association formed at school level mainly to bridge the gap between parent's teachers and the school.

As development partners, the PTA helps to mobilize parents to discuss issues of development in the school, school fees collection, construction of new structures etc. before such are approved by the B.O.G for implementation.

Head Teacher

Bombo SS head teachers are posted by the ministry of Education and sports from time to time. Our head teacher is the accounting officer of the school who takes charge of day to day running of the school managing both teaching and non-teaching staff.

The head teacher has to implement decisions of the Board where he also takes charge as board secretary. The school has had several head teachers since its inception in 1964.

Deputy Head Teachers

Deputy Head Teacher (Administration)

Supervises the welfare department, games and sports among others.

Deputy Head Teacher (Academics)

Monitors the teachers, teaching and external examinations and skilling programs among others.

Director of Studies

In charge of day to day academic activities in the school including the management of the teaching time table, internal examinations among others. The office has two other assistants helping in different duties.

Heads of Department

Head of Biological Sciences

Manages biology, agriculture and related subjects.

Head of Physical Sciences

Manages physics, chemistry, mathematics and related subjects.

Head of Vocational Sciences

Manages practical subjects like woodwork, metalwork, home economics.

Head of Humanities

Manages history, geography, CRE, IRE and related subjects.

Head of Languages

Manages English, Luganda, French and other languages.

Class Teachers

These are individual teachers charged with managing particular classes and academic performance of individual students in their classes. They also monitor individual students discipline and give them guidance on various issues. Our class teachers can have direct contact with parents of individual learners. Class teachers make reports on each learner from time to time.
